The bells have just started ringing at schools, but as successful marketers, tis’ the season to flip the switch and spice up our marketing efforts for the holidays!

Not only does this mean we need to strategically prepare our marketing plans, but we should also start browsing the best sales out there to stock our carts ahead of time, hopefully relieving our wallets from any big last-minute spending.

The other day I saw a commercial from a furniture store promoting a holiday sale for shoppers to buy now so they can get their deliveries in time for Christmas.

This is a clever way to get ahead of the competition, while also getting consumers into the holiday spirit.  Typically, shoppers who are in the holiday spirit are also in the mood to spend more! So, let’s start dazzling our websites and emails to maximize engagement and sales during the peak shopping season ahead!

How can we do this successfully? Make sure to start by setting a timeline. Creating a content calendar can help outline key dates and events.

Adding holiday-themed content to your website, social media accounts, and emails, are a fun way to spread holiday cheer! 

Making sure you add pops of color, falling leaves, pumpkins, lights, and all-things holiday, are just some ideas to help get consumers into the spirit.

Next, be sure to tailor your message to audiences and add a play on words!

Notice how I used tis’ the season up above? Reading over that got me a little more excited about the months ahead! It also sparked my attention that I need to start my holiday shopping list as Christmas is right around the corner!
