Check Out These Summer Activities To Do With The Fam Without Breaking The Bank

NinJo Group Summer Fun

We are going to flip the switch to summer fun!

This week let’s focus on ways to have fun this summer without taking a huge hit on the wallet.

As a mother of four, I’m always looking for fun things to do with the kids to keep them busy during the summer.  But going out to eat or heading to the movies can get so expensive!

Instead, I try to find what I like to call “free fun”! And believe it or not, there are ways to have fun without putting a dent in your wallet!

As summer kicks off, I thought I’d let you know of some ideas and tips that I’ve found for you to also enjoy!

Kids Bowl Free: Sign up for this amazing deal!  More than 1,500 bowling centers around the globe provide 2 FREE games of bowling each day to kids during summer! Check it out, you may find your local bowling alley participates!

$1 Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cone: Little League and Dairy Queen are partnering up this summer to offer a $1 small cone for any of your young athletes who wear their jersey or uniform to participating locations!

Parks: Have fun and make a checklist of local parks to visit throughout the summer. You can even throw in a scavenger hunt for the kids from each park!

Hidden Beaches: Last summer I found a local beach for residents, and it was free! Make sure to google some area beaches to see if you can find a “secret” gem!

Library Reading Club: Join the reading club and get freebies for reading, including local baseball games, even some restaurant coupons! While you’re there, ask about free tickets to local zoos and museums!

Sports: Gather the neighborhood kids and set a weekly date to have a wiffle ball game at the local diamond. Or head to a park to throw some hoops with the kids. Make it part of your weekly agenda so the kids can look forward to it!

Dining: Don’t even think about going out to eat without looking for coupons! Almost everyone has an app or can look online for deals this summer! Remember, any saving can add up and your wallet will thank you when summer is over!

Splash Pads: Check out area splash pads to keep your littles cool on hot, summer days! These are typically free and fun for all!

Festivals: Search the area for local festivals and jump in on the fun! Hang out with friends, listen to local bands, and enjoy the summer nights together!

Farmers Markets: Here you can indulge all of the fresh veggies and fruits, while also catching local families who may be selling goods at a discounted price. Fresh food may cost a bit more at the tent, but you may find that neighborhood friend looking to sell lemonade or cookies at a lower price.

Fireworks: Some cities like Chicago (Navy Pier) have free fireworks displays weekly. Check your local cities and villages to see if you can immerse yourself in an evening of spectacular displays!

Do these ideas get you excited for summer?!  These are just a FEW “free fun” ideas for families.

You can leave your wallet at home for most of these, however, it’s still a good idea to have it just in case you cave for that ice cream treat or want to indulge in something for yourself to keep you sane during these busy summer days ahead!
