🔥 DIY Bonfire Nights Under The Stars

NinJo Group

As the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to fall, there’s something special about gathering around a crackling fire under the stars. Backyard bonfire nights are the perfect way to create unforgettable memories, especially if you’re the one setting the scene.

The best part?  You don’t need to go camping or spend a fortune to experience the perfect bonfire.

With a little planning, you can turn your backyard into a cozy retreat. Here's how to host the ultimate bonfire night at home.

Set The Scene

There are several options depending on space and your budget. Built-in fire pits are aesthetically built.  However, they come on the pricier side.

If that’s not in your budget, portable fire pits can be just as beautiful.  They’re easy to move and store.   A more compact option is a chiminea or fire bowl, which can also add charm and warmth to your patio.

Create Comfort

Think of your backyard bonfire space like an outdoor living room. Comfort is key.  You can arrange chairs in a circle for easy conversation.  Adirondack chairs and benches are great backyard seats.  If you’re wanting to create a more “nature” vibe, use tree stumps as chairs.

Adding an outdoor rug also adds a touch of comfort.  Don’t forget the blankets and throws for chilly nights.

Fireside Foods

No bonfire night is complete without snacks — especially s’mores. If you’re entertaining guests, a fun twist is setting up a s’mores bar filled with different types of chocolates, caramel squares, and cookies!

Looking to fill their bellies a bit more? Hot dogs on a stick are a crowd pleaser!

Fireside Drinks

Who doesn’t like hot cocoa with marshmallows, or spiced apple cider?

Interested in adult beverages instead? Mulled wine or warm sangria are great options by the fire!

While bonfire nights are fun, they can also be dangerous if not cautious.  Always supervise the fire and make sure to keep a bucket of water near you.

Heading in for the night? Don’t leave the fire before fully extinguishing it. So, sit back, light the fire, and enjoy your backyard as it glows under the stars.
