How To Build Effective CTAs On Your Website

You’ve built your website, but did you stop and think about your call-to-action buttons on all pages?

Call-to-action buttons or CTAs, direct users to take specific action

Building effective CTAs is key when capturing your audience as your future customer.

So, what exactly is a call-to-action button?

CTAs offer direction, invitation or an offer.

The consumer clicks on a link or a button that leads them to buy your product or service, sign up for newsletters or subscribe to your video channel.

And that means, if the consumer clicked on that button, you’ve done your job as a marketer.

So how do you get people to click on your CTA

Through powerful, short wording and urgency.

There are several different types of CTAs.

There’s lead generation, form submission, read more buttons, product or service discovery, event promotions and more.

It all depends on which industry you’re in.

Considering what influences a user to interact with your website is a good first step.

For example, if you’re an ecommerce business, strong, action words such as “Buy Now”, “Shop Now”, help promote a transaction between the user and your website.  In return, you gain higher conversion rates.

You also want to make sure your button is visible to your users.

Bright colors, larger font, and placement of the CTA is key. Common positioning of CTAs includes the top of the webpage, in the side bar, or pop-ups as the user scrolls through your page. Don’t be afraid to experiment with these to see what best suits your audience for future sales.

Now, you may be wondering how your CTAs are performing and what works for your audience?

Through analytics, you can easily track and measure your CTA data.

You can view how many people are clicking on one button versus the other.

This gives you knowledge about your customer base and can help make your decision on how to best place your CTAs in the future.

Finally, don’t trick your consumer.  CTAs are key but you want to make sure the button links the consumer directly to the page, otherwise, you may lose them through inconvenience and frustration.

While CTAs may be a small piece of your website, they are still one of the most powerful parts that help generate sales.
