🍂🎃Fall Fun Starts Now!
Here we are in the Chicago burbs, the unofficial fall season is here…but of course, mother nature says different, with 100 degree feel-like temperatures!
But don’t let these hot days fool you…we know those crisp mornings, and colorful leaves are officially calling!
Whether your family loves pumpkin patches, football games, cozy sweaters, or just an excuse to enjoy a pumpkin-spiced something, we’ve put together the ultimate fall bucket list in Illinois!
🎃Visit A Pumpkin Patch
Nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch! Pick out the perfect pumpkin, wander through the corn maze, take a hayride, and let the kids burn off some energy before heading home with a trunk full of autumn goodies.
A fun activity while at the patch…find the biggest pumpkin you can carry!
🍎Go Apple Picking
Grab a basket and head to an orchard for a day of apple picking. Of course, the real challenge is making it home without eating half your haul!
Have any left? Bake something with the apples you picked. Bonus points for apple cider donuts, homemade pies, or fresh cider.
🍁Take A Fall Color Drive
Illinois may be known for its prairies, but our trees know how to put on a show. Pick a weekend, pack some snacks, and take a scenic drive to see the leaves at their peak.
Be sure you don’t forget the camera! Fall makes for a beautiful time to snap a family photo.
🌽Get Lost In A Corn Maze
Think you know your way around? A corn maze might change your mind! Make it a family competition and see who can find the exit first.
Want to make it more challenging? No phones allowed until you find your way out!
🍩Try a Seasonal Treat
Fall calories don't count…right? Treat yourself to all of the fall goodies.
Apple cider donuts, pumpkin bread, caramel apples, hot chocolate, or whatever seasonal favorite makes your belly happy.
🥾Take A Fall Hike
Lace up those sneakers and hit the trails. The cooler temperatures make fall one of the best times to get outside, and there's something magical about crunching through a pile of colorful leaves.
Want to make it memorable? Let the kids pick their favorite leaf along the way.
👻Embrace Halloween
Costumes? Check. Candy? Check. Decorations? Check. Make the most of Halloween by carving pumpkins, visiting a haunted house, dressing up the family, and, of course, trick-or-treating.
Not ready to take on a truly terrifying experience? Look for a family-friendly, haunted attraction or a daytime event instead.
So even though the weather says different right now, let’s embrace fall because before we know it, the leaves will be gone, the pumpkins will be carved, and we’ll be wondering where the season went!
On your mark, get set, go!
